GARDEN CITY, NY – Congresswoman Kathleen Rice was endorsed today by five more labor organizations as she seeks reelection in New York’s fourth congressional district. “It’s an honor to announce that SMART proudly endorses Kathleen Rice’s reelection campaign for Congress,” said Anthony Simon, General Chairman of SMART Transportation Division. “As DA, Kathleen supported on-board train crews by pushing to prosecute individuals who assault railroad employees. And Kathleen’s continued support in Congress in fighting for safe and secure transportation systems in our region demonstrates a consistent record toward the safety and well-being of both employees and travelers utilizing mass transit. We are proud to support Kathleen for reelection and we look forward to continued victories and prosperity for Long Island workers.”
“Laborers Local 1298 is proud to endorse Congresswoman Kathleen Rice for reelection,” said George Truicko, Business Manager of Laborers International Union Local 1298. “Kathleen has been a longtime ally of the building trades and we’re excited to keep working together to create opportunities for working men and women on Long Island.”
"Laborers Local 66 is proud to join Kathleen Rice's growing team as she runs for re-election. Kathleen's commitment to working men and women has been apparent since her time as Nassau DA," said Pete Zarcone, Political Coordinator for the Laborers International Union Local 66. "As DA she steadfastly enforced worker protections and prevailing wage laws. And in Congress, she's been a tireless advocate for investing in our crumbling infrastructure here on Long Island and across the country. We're proud to endorse her and we're excited to join her on the campaign trail."
“Kathleen Rice is an experienced, progressive leader who will fight to improve and protect the lives of families in the 4th Congressional District and throughout Long Island and New York State,” said Walter Barton, President of the National Association of Letter Carriers Long Island Merged Branch 6000. “We’re proud to endorse Kathleen and excited to help get her reelected in November.”
“I’m proud to receive these endorsements and grateful to have such committed allies in organized labor as we fight to keep making progress for working families on Long Island,” said Congresswoman Kathleen Rice. “Over the past two years, these unions have been true partners as we’ve worked to push for infrastructure investments and advocate for expanding apprenticeship opportunities on Long Island. I’m excited to have them joining our team in this campaign, and I look forward to continue working together to achieve our shared priorities in the years ahead.”
