Religion is no excuse for illegal discrimination

We cannot tolerate discrimination in America.

Religious freedom is at the foundation of our democracy, and that right is protected by the Religious Freedom Restoration Act, or RFRA – a strong law meant to ensure that all of us are free to practice our religion. But over the past few years, some politicians have wielded “religious freedom” as a weapon and used the RFRA to justify discriminating against the LGBT community and denying women access to health care.

Take Donald Trump’s new running mate, for example: Indiana Governor Mike Pence, who passed and signed a law that allows Indiana businesses to refuse service to LGBT Americans.

That’s not religious freedom – it’s discrimination. Sign my petition right now and tell Congress to protect Americans from unfair discrimination!

Discrimination in any form has no place in our country. We need to make it clear that everyone in America is equal under the law – no matter their gender, race, or sexual orientation. We need to make it clear that we will not allow extremists like Mike Pence to use the RFRA to justify discrimination – and we can do that by passing the Do No Harm Act.

Your voice needs to be heard: Sign my petition right now and tell Congress to pass the Do No Harm Act!
