They've earned it
Today, we pause to acknowledge America’s veterans and military families and thank them for the sacrifices they've made for our country.
Today is also an opportunity to renew our commitment to caring for our veterans. Veterans returning from war with disabilities find themselves waiting months to receive the physical and mental health care services they need. That has to change. We have to do a lot more to fulfill the promises we've made to America’s veterans – they’ve earned it.
In Congress, I’m working hard to provide veterans with the support they need to thrive in civilian life -- to advance their educations, get good jobs and affordable housing, and access the world-class health care they deserve. We have to make it a priority – not just today, but every day – to keep getting things done for our veterans so they can live the American Dream that they risked their lives to defend.
